At the Dubai Book Fair, a Bengali Book Kiosk takes the Stage

For the first time, a Bengali book kiosk will receive a permanent entry into the Dubai government's biennial International Book Fair. It is a source of tremendous pride for residents of the state as well as Bengalis in Dubai.

For the first time, a Bengali book kiosk will receive a permanent entry into the Dubai government's biennial International Book Fair. It is a source of tremendous pride for residents of the state as well as Bengalis in Dubai.

However, having a Bengali book stall as a permanent entrée into the international book fair as a Bengali female writer of Indian ancestry in Dubai was not an easy undertaking. "The love for motherland and love for mother tongue is an inseparable part of a human being," writes Saptadweepa Adhikary, a resident of Dubai.
